I offer individual therapy to clients (aged 16 and older) facing a range of psychological challenges and life difficulties. This includes anxiety, depression, phobias, relationship difficulties, excess stress, low self-esteem, significant life events/changes, and bereavement. I also work with individuals who are wanting to make use of therapy to improve their life satisfaction, self-worth, confidence or motivation.
I have a special interest in treating the effects of trauma or other distressing events. I am a Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing practitioner and am also trained in BrainWorking Recursive Therapy.
I also offer presentations and workshops to organisations or institutions on mental illness and well-being.
My aim is to create a safe, non-judgmental and collaborative therapeutic space. The therapist-client relationship is an integral part of the therapeutic process, and although the nature of therapy means that the process is not always easy, I would like my clients to feel comfortable and respected. I work from an eclectic, holistic perspective. Psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and mindfulness form the primary practical and theoretical foundations of my work. I am also trained in BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT).
